MassDevelopment announced today its partnership with The Manufacturing Institute, a national agency that develops and supports world-class manufacturing talent, as the newest member of the Dream It. Do It. network. Through this initiative, MassDevelopment will represent Dream It. Do It. Massachusetts, an initiative that provides local manufacturers, schools and organizations with a national platform to promote manufacturing as a top-tier career choice. With this new membership, Dream It. Do It. has expanded its network to 42 programs in 40 states.
“MassDevelopment is proud to be part of this important initiative aimed at illuminating, promoting and supporting the rewarding careers available in the manufacturing industry,” said MassDevelopment President and CEO Marty Jones. “Dream It. Do It. builds on the Agency’s efforts, such as AMP it up!, to show students, parents and teachers the vital role of manufacturing jobs in the Commonwealth’s economy. We are excited about this partnership to expand that work.”
Dream It. Do It. Massachusetts, also supported by the Massachusetts Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MassMEP), a national network providing manufacturers with the resources needed to support growth, productivity and capacity, will work to reach youth, parents, and teachers with positive messages about manufacturing careers and grow the pipeline of young talent in the Commonwealth. Established in 2005, Dream It. Do It. acts as the grassroots authority on influencing the perception of manufacturing careers by leveraging local, regional and statewide strategic partnerships to attract and recruit the next generation manufacturing workforce. Dream It. Do It. consists of a network of industry leaders that develop pro-manufacturing activities customized to their community’s needs.
“We are so excited to welcome Dream It. Do It. Massachusetts to the network, joining our national effort to change the image of manufacturing and attract youth into manufacturing careers,” said The Manufacturing Institute Senior Vice President Brent Weil.
