193-197 Union Street, New Bedford
In early 2026, One Circle Co. will purchase the vacant Keystone lot at 193-197 Union Street in New Bedford from MassDevelopment as planned and begin construction of a new mixed-use building featuring 45 apartments and ground-floor commercial space.
In 2021, New Bedford Creative partnered with Tanisha Ferrer and a collective of other artists to create a “Black Lives Matter” mural, which was installed along the fencing of the vacant site. We appreciate all the artists who made this important installation possible. The Black Lives Matter mural represents a powerful expression of art, community, and social justice, and will be relocated to the historic Star Store, a cornerstone of downtown New Bedford since 1844.
