Highlighting Immigrant Developer Impact in Hyannis

Produced by Felix Gomez of Lawrence’s Vessel Vision Productions and conceived of by Hyannis TDI Fellow Josie Santos, this video was featured during a workshop in March 2023 to inform the largely immigrant development and construction workforce about recent zoning changes for residential development in downtown Hyannis and Barnstable at large.

The workshop highlighted the role of the construction and development industry in the local economy and emphasized the importance of housing initiatives. Claudia Farias' presence, representing the Brazilian Embassy, further underscored the workshop's impact and importance to the community, especially the large Brazilian immigrant workforce that exists in construction and the trades.
