F+J Juice Bar Café Purchases Property on Shirley Avenue

MassDevelopment issued a $25,000 grant through the Transformative Development Initiative (TDI) Equity Investment Program to Francisco Carvajal and Juliana Agudelo, owners of F+J Juice Bar Café. The funds were used to purchase a commercial property on Shirley Avenue in Revere where the business has operated for more than a decade. The path to property ownership for Francisco and Juliana was powered by a mix of personal investment, private lending, and public support – including pandemic recovery assistance from The Neighborhood Developers, equipment upgrades through a TDI Shared Space Grant, and technical assistance via The City of Revere and Roads Consulting Group. With a strong business plan in place, they accessed the City’s Small Business Loan Program and secured a commercial loan—bringing everything together with the final boost from TDI.
