Dorchester's Fresh Food Generation

Fresh Food Generation is a farm-to-plate, multicultural food truck, restaurant, and catering company that works to increase access to healthy, locally sourced, culturally relevant food for all of Boston. Specializing in Caribbean and American fusion dishes, Fresh Food Generation began its business journey in a bright red food truck.
With a fresh idea but lacking culinary training, co-founders Cassandria Campbell and Jackson Renshaw needed expertise in food production. They also needed access to a commercial kitchen to create their menus and support the food truck and growing catering orders.
With support from the Small Business Technical Assistance Grant Program, Commonwealth Kitchen, a nonprofit food-business incubator, provided kitchen space and technical assistance to Cassandria and Jackson on essentials such as cost tracking, accurate record keeping, recipe standardization, and online services. At the kitchen, they experimented with menu options and developed production systems.
Fresh Food Generation has since added a brick-and-mortar restaurant to reach additional customers and deliver their mission of making Boston more equitable, sustainable, and delicious!
