Luxury Cuts in Leominster

Carlos Rosado opened Luxury Cuts in 2010 with an idea to reconfigure the barber shop business model. Instead of renting chairs to barbers as independent contractors, Carlos opted for a traditional business model with employees earning a percentage of their sales. He also introduced lines of hair products for sale, a widespread practice in beauty salons, but less so in barber shops.
For Luxury Cuts to grow and expand, it needed to increase its percentage of walk-in customers. Carlos was also in need of technical assistance to obtain financing to accommodate future growth.
NewVue Communities, a Fitchburg-based community development corporation funded in part by the Small Business Technical Assistance Program, was able to help Carlos build a website to give Luxury Cuts an online presence that enhanced credibility and boosted marketing efforts to reach a wider audience. NewVue also assisted Carlos with a loan application for an additional parking location – a critical asset for any customer.
