Town of Wareham - Tremont Nail Factory Redevelopment Strategy
The Town of Wareham engaged MassDevelopment to create a redevelopment strategy for the historic Tremont Nail Factory, a site totaling 48,000 square feet of space across eight buildings on a 7.2-acre lot. The Town acquired the site in 2004 using Community Preservation Act funds, but it remained underused. With MassDevelopment’s help, consultants began an intensive three-month community engagement process in early 2017 to research the site’s potential. Consultants used feedback to create a final plan that included four development scenarios, each with varying levels of density. This plan also identified infrastructure and streetscape improvements for the site.
